I talked with advisors and thought about what the chances were for a win and I’ve decided that at this late stage of the race it would be nearly impossible to achieve victory in November against State Representative David Taylor and so for the second time in this race I am removing myself from the election.
Representative Taylor is a good man who has the needs of the people at heart and I respect him very much. The 15th Legislative District is in my opinion well-represented. I believe that he will do his best to bring jobs and economic recovery to our District.
Thanks to all of you who voted for me this year in the Primary. It was a welcome surprise to see so many people requesting my participation. Please know that I’ve talked to Representative Taylor and I believe that for all of the reasons you voted for me you should now cast your vote for the Representative in November. He and I see eyeball-to-eyeball on bringing you jobs, stronger infrastructure, senior care, veteran’s care, libraries, schools, emergency services and the things that effect you every day. He and I both want you all to be the ultimate winners and that’s what we’re both focused on now.
I will be back to Washington and perhaps will make a run at the Congressional seat in 2012, but now and leading up to 2012 I am engaged in bringing business to the area. I’ve got a startup now that intends to bring billions of dollars to participating municipalities, I still believe the area could produce algae for fuel, hydrogen-on-demand generators to reduce emissions and other green industries. I still believe in small business creation and solicitation of large-scale industry and mid-size companies to employee people at a living wage. These are the things I hold dear and the things I will continue to address throughout my life.
So congratulations to Representative Taylor and I look forward to continuing my efforts to bring prosperity to our district through startups, enticing large industry and through my current endeavor, Everybody’s Energy.
Best regards,
John Wright Gotts

I’m building my campaign staff now so that I can hit the ground moving when I return home this coming week. I will be living in the Sunnyside area and am really excited to meet all of the people who’ve already volunteered to help with the campaign.
Here is my agenda, which I believe is supported by my opponent, though I certainly don’t speak for him: There is a need for living-wage jobs and creating income for the municipalities within the District such that we bring the economies out of the red and into the black.
That’s really all there is. I have no intention of going after the people that I believe are responsible for the lack of jobs but simply put, I intend to move ahead in a positive way and get people discussing solutions to create good jobs for the people of the District.
With good jobs and a solid tax base we can care for our seniors and veterans, we can build safer roads, put more police, fire and ambulances on the street, we can better fund our schools and libraries and in so doing not only create jobs but create a stronger community.

I’m going to be heading home to Washington on Tuesday.
I learned from a friend in White Salmon today that the people whom I believe are most-responsible for keeping living-wage jobs out of the 15th LD feel threatened and tried their best to keep me from getting elected by posting bad things in the letters-to-the-editor of the White Salmon Enterprise. I guess more people disagreed with their thoughts than agreed or I wouldn’t have been elected.
That said, what is it they disagree with? Is it that I want living-wage jobs? Is it that I want money for senior care or veteran’s care? Is it that I want safe roads, emergency services, schools and libraries? Or perhaps it’s that I said I would put an end to frivolous lawsuits that keep living-wage jobs and industry out of our area.
The bottom line is that I love the people of my district and I love my home in Washington. I will do whatever it takes to bring good jobs and prosperity to the region and if that means that people won’t be able to extort money from business owners who want to set up shop then that’s what I will do.
Having said that let me be crystal clear: It is NOT my intention to build my campaign by pointing out who is creating these problems, again in my opinion on who is creating these problems, rather it is my intention to come back home and talk about the positive things we can do moving forward to bring growth to our area. The only reason I would have to go after these groups again is if they decide to continue firing missiles at me in the way of letters-to-the editor, etc., in which case I will have to explain my position and in so doing they will once again see their names and what I believe they are doing both in the paper and in my campaign speeches at debates, etc. I will leave it up to these groups which way they want to go on that.
I’m coming home to win this election and to bring prosperity to my people and I’d hope these goals would be shared by all people in the district including Democrats, Republicans, Independents and everyone who is sick of poverty reeking havoc on our citizens.
The time for change is upon us and I will not relent.
I am a man of the people and for the people of my district.

I’m heading back to my home in Washington next week to start my campaign for State Representative in the November election.
I appreciate that the people voted me into the general and will do my very best to win this race for you.
There are some really important issues that should be discussed to bring prosperity back to our district and I want to do everything I can to focus on those ideas and present them to the people.
I will see you all soon.

To everyone’s surprise, including myself, I won the primary election over my Democratic rival. I am now returning to Washington where I will be running for State Representative in the 2009 November election.
I have never stopped working to promote jobs and prosperity for the area and will come back stronger than ever so far as tangible ideas on how to accomplish those goals.

It will be interesting with my name on the ballot but absolutely no campaigning, no picture in the voter’s guide, etc. how I will fair. I don’t really care much but it will be interesting. 2012 is my year.
